– Malé domčeky autobusových zastávok

Nemecká výtvarníčka Anna Tretter pôsobila osem rokov v Košiciach, kde viedla Ateliér nových médií na Fakulte umení Technickej univerzity. Skúsenosti z oboch krajín prepája v aktualizovanej verzii svojho dlhodobého projektu Malé domčeky, ktorý realizovala už na viacerých miestach – prvýkrát v roku 1997 v Poľsku. Na obrazovkách vidíme prezentáciu fotografií autobusových zastávok z troch rôznych ciest, ktoré sú znázornené kresbou na stene. Prvá trasa (2004) viedla z Košíc do Medzilaboriec, kde sa nachádza Múzeum Andyho Warhola, jedného z najslávnejších umelcov 20. storočia, ktorého korene siahajú na Slovensko. Druhú trasu autorka zvolila z Bratislavy do Nitry, kde pracuje jeden z kurátorov tejto výstavy. Tretia trasa zachytáva cestu z jej domovského mesta Amorbach do rôznych blízkych lokalít, kde umelecky pôsobila. Autobusové zastávky sú svojské malé architektúry, v ktorých sa mieša „zanedbanosť“ Východu s „uhladenosťou“ Západu. Sú to akési „nemiesta“, ktoré vyzerajú obývateľne, ale slúžia iba na dočasné čakanie pocestných na najbližší spoj.
Ich špecifcký výzor a stav, v akom sa nachádzajú, výstižne a často humorne odzrkadľuje konkrétnu krajinu, jej obyvateľov a ich vzťah k verejnému priestoru.

ON THE ROAD – the Little Houses of Bus Stops

The German artist Anna Tretter worked for eight years in Košice, where she led the New Media Studio at the Faculty of Arts in the Technical University. She combines experiences from both countries in an updated version of her long-term project Little Houses, which she has already performed in several places, beginning with Poland in 1997. On screens we see a presentation of photographs of bus stops from three different routes, illustrated by a drawing on the wall. The first route (2004) went from Košice to Medzilaborace, site of the Museum of Andy Warhol, one of the most famous 20th century artists, whose roots go as far as Slovakia. For her second route the artist chose Bratislava to Nitra, where one of the curators of this exhibition is working. The third route takes in the road from her home town Amorbach to various nearby localities where she has worked as an artist. Bus stops are distinctive small forms of architecture, where the “carelessness” of the East mingles with the “smoothness” of the West. They are a kind of “non-places” that seem habitable, but serve only for travelers’ temporary wait for the next connection. By their specific appearance, and the condition in which one finds them, they concisely and often humorously mirror the particular country, its inhabitants, and their relationship with public space.

AUF EINER REISE – Die kleinen Häuser der Bushaltestellen

Die deutsche Künstlerin Anna Tretter war acht Jahre in Košice tätig, wo sie das Atelier für neue Medien an der Kunstfakultät der Technischen Universität geführt hat. Sie verbindet die Erfahrungen aus beiden Ländern in der aktualisierten Version ihres langfristigen Projektes „Die kleinen Häuser der Bushaltestellen“, das sie bereits an mehreren Orten realisiert hat – zum ersten Mal 1997 in Polen. Auf den Bildschirmen sehen wir eine Fotopräsentation von Bushaltestellen aus drei verschiedenen Reisen, die mit der Zeichnung an der Wand dargestellt ist. Die erste Route (2004) hat von Košice nach Medzilaborce geführt, wo sich das Museum von Andy Warhol, einer der berühmtesten Künstler des 20. Jahrhunderts, dessen Wurzeln zur Slowakei zurückreichen, befindet. Die zweite Route hat die Künstlerin von Bratislava nach Nitra gewählt, wo einer der Kuratoren dieser Ausstellung arbeitet.
Die dritte Route nimmt die Reise in ihre Heimatstadt Amorbach und diversen nahestehenden Lokalitäten auf, wo sie künstlerisch tätig war.
Die Bushaltestellen sind eigenartige kleine Architekturen, in welchen sich die „Verkommenheit“ des Ostens mit der „Geschliffenheit“ des Westens zusammenmischt. Sie sind irgendwelche „Un-Orte,“ die bewohnbar aussehen, aber nur zum kurzfristigen Warten der Passagiere auf ihre nächste Verbindung dienen. Ihr spezifisches Aussehen und der Zustand, in dem sie sich befinden, spiegeln humorvoll das konkrete Land, dessen Einwohner und deren Beziehung zum öffentlichen Raum wider.
